Pruning
Your property and landscape are a unique investment and developing a routine pruning program will keep your trees and shrubs healthy, vigorous, and beautiful!   Proper pruning, with an understanding of tree biology, can maintain correct structure and tree health as well as enhance the aesthetic and economic values of your landscape. This periodic pruning improves the health, appearance, and structural integrity of trees and can also minimize tree hazards and liability. On the other hand, improper pruning can be harmful. Pruning should be done with an understanding of how the tree responds to each cut.  Improper pruning can cause damage that will last for the life of the tree, or worse, shorten the tree’s life.  Choose your arborist carefully. The arborists at St. Vrain Arbor Care will determine what type of pruning is necessary, and we provide the services of a trained crew, with all of the required safety equipment and liability insurance.

Our certified arborists and their professionally trained crews offer the following pruning services:
Crown Thinning (CT): The selective removal of branches to increase light penetration and air movement through the crown.  Thinning opens the foliage of a tree, reduces weight on heavy limbs, and helps retain the tree’s natural shape
Crown Cleaning (CC): The removal of dead, dying, diseased, crowded, weakly attached and low-vigor branches from the crown of the tree.
Crown Raising (CR): The removal of the lower branches from a tree in order to provide clearance for buildings, vehicles, pedestrians, and vistas.
Crown reduction (CRD): The reduction of the height, spread, or size of a tree. We will NOT top a tree, please see our FAQ page for more information on the harm of topping.
Selective Prune (SP): The removal of selected branches, storm damaged limbs or other specialized pruning for trees and shrubs.
Removal (RTRW): The complete removal of a tree, this includes the removal of all wood unless otherwise specified.
Stump Grinding (SG):  The grinding of the stump.
